Barry L. Cox

Nuclear Site Vice President – Callaway Energy Center Ameren Missouri
Barry Cox was named nuclear site vice president, Ameren Missouri, on January 1, 2020. In this role, Cox is responsible for the safe operation of the Callaway Energy Center.

Cox joined Ameren Missouri in 2011 as the manager – Planning, Scheduling, and Outages. In December 2012 he was promoted to senior director Nuclear Operations and then in September 2018 was promoted to assistant site vice president, which he held until December 2019.

Prior to joining Ameren Missouri, Cox was the operations manager at the River Bend Station, Entergy Corporation. During his career, he held various positions including shift manager and control room supervisor at Arkansas Nuclear One in Arkansas.

Cox holds a bachelor’s degree in engineering technology from Thomas Edison State College, and a master’s degree in business administration from Walden University. He has a Senior Reactor Operator License from River Bend Station and Arkansas Nuclear One. He has completed the Senior Nuclear Plant Managers course at the Institute of Nuclear Power Operations.
