Ameren Illinois is enhancing the natural gas infrastructure in our capital city and surrounding area. These updates will improve safety and service reliability for customers and are just one more way we’re achieving our goal of modernizing our energy delivery systems throughout Central and Southern Illinois.
The following are just a few local infrastructure projects that have been completed or are in progress throughout Springfield to help improve reliability and ensure that our power is there when you need it:
Enhanced Natural Gas Delivery System
Upgrading approximately 20,600 feet of coupled steel gas mains and 426 associated gas services on the west side of Jerome.
Upgrading approximately 10,000 feet of coupled steel gas mains and 138 associated gas services on Grove Park, Oak Hills and Melody Ln on Springfield's north side.
Upgrading approximately 7,100 feet of coupled steel gas mains and 107 associated gas services in the Western Knolls Subdivision and on Pajim Lane and McKibbin Lane on Springfield's west side.
Upgrading approximately 2,800 feet of coupled steel gas mains and 104 associated gas services on Jeanette Lane, located off of Bruns Lane in Springfield.
Retiring outdated natural gas facilities throughout the service territory.
