Peoria County Reliability Project
Ameren Illinois is proposing the Peoria County Reliability Project to improve energy reliability for local customers in the Peoria County area. This Project includes the construction of a new, 138 kV transmission line to connect the existing Alta substation in Peoria County, Illinois to the existing Pioneer substation in the City of Peoria. Our goal is to have this new line in service and providing benefits to the local community by December 2025.
About the Project

On February 24, 2023, Ameren Illinois submitted an application to the Illinois Commerce Commission (ICC) for Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity (CPCN) for the Project. On August 16, 2023, the ICC approved a final route and issued a CPCN for the Peoria County Reliability Transmission Project. The new transmission line construction is expected to begin in spring 2024 and anticipated to be in-service by December 2025.
