Generation
Ameren Missouri operates more than two dozen energy centers, representing approximately 9,300 MW of generation. This balanced mix of generation supports reliability for our customers from day-to-day life to times of peak demand.
Renewable Generation
Solar
Solar energy enhances reliability by providing clean, renewable power in tandem with other generation sources.
Wind
Ameren Missouri operates two wind facilities in Missouri, with a nameplate capacity of approximately 900 MW.
Hydroelectric Facilities
For more than a century, Ameren Missouri has been harnessing the power of water to generate clean, renewable electricity for customers.
On-Demand (Natural Gas & Landfill)
On days of extreme temperatures, these facilities give us the ability to add generation to meet the high demand.
Other Generation
Coal-fired Facilities
Currently, coal is the primary fuel source at two Ameren energy centers: Labadie and Sioux. Burning coal produces steam that drives electric generators and creates byproducts known as coal combustion residuals, which Ameren takes steps to manage responsibly and safely.
Nuclear
The Callaway Energy Center not only provides clean, safe, and affordable electricity but also boosts Missouri's economy.
Our Sustainability Efforts
Ameren has set ambitious goals to guide us on our path to a sustainable energy future.
