As we plan for a clean energy transition, Ameren Illinois offers complimentary electric vehicle resources and rebates for high school driving programs in eligible communities* to purchase an EV and charger.

EV Curriculum Support
New EV drivers may not realize that braking helps recharge the battery through regenerative braking or that electric vehicles deliver power instantly for a unique driving feel. Our EV Curriculum Support ensures teens and new drivers understand these features, helping them stay safe and confidently navigate the electric driving experience.

Financial Assistance
Before applying for assistance, you must be enrolled in ChargeSmart and meet Income Eligible Communities Criteria
Rebates are available for eligible schools after they purchase an EV or EV Charging Station for their Drivers Education program on campus. Work with your administrators to determine if an EV or Charging Station can be purchased for your school. Then, work with Ameren Illinois to identify dealerships and ICC certified installers and to process your rebate after purchase and/or installation.
