This has led us to our most ambitious environmental commitment yet – a goal to reach net-zero carbon emissions by 2050. This includes plans to reduce carbon emissions by 50% by 2030 and 85% by 2040, based on 2005 levels. The new goals accelerate our 2017 pledge and are consistent with the objectives of the Paris Agreement and in limiting global temperature rise to 1.5 degrees Celsius. To achieve these goals, we are making significant investments in clean energy generation and transmission.
